In the opening interview, he recalls the experience of working with Duke Ellington on a sacred concert including the song \"David danced before the Lord.\" Eulogizing Baby Laurence (Laurence Donald Jackson) as \"the greatest tap dancer that ever lived,\" he describes his special qualities and style, and his role as an innovator who showed the way for other dancers. He also discusses dancers Walter Green, known for his \"cramping\", and Teddy Hale, and demonstrates their specialties. Briggs then demonstrates to the music of \"I got rhythm,\" and teaches various routines. Gregory Hines is among the participants in this class.
